Ladies and gentlemen, I finally get to review the new Brooks PureConnect 3! (RunningShoes.com)

I reviewed the original Brooks PureConnect and while I liked it for the most part, I had some issues with it after awhile. A lot of that original shoe carried on into round two, where not much was changed with the PureConnect 2. However, Brooks has incorporated a number of new changes in their third iteration and I have to say not many of them are for the better.

I have logged a good 50+ miles in this shoe and a couple of long runs and still can’t totally get behind this shoe as a main marathoner for me. It comes down to the podded outsole, the burrito upper, and the narrowness of the shoe. While I’m relatively happy in the shoe for long runs, I run in other shoes that suit me far better (Kinvara 4, Energy NR, etc).

I think this is one of those shoes that will work for some and not work for others. It will take getting your foot into this shoe and trying it for yourself to see how you like it. If you can look past the narrowness and podded outsole, I think you’re off to the races! So let me know in the comments if you’ve run in the PureConnect 3 and what do you think?
